I’ve always like the base 370z 18" wheels.
They also happen to fit the Juke great. A few things would change. The rear rims would be up front with 255/40r18(370z size is 245/45r18) on the 18x9, & the fronts would be in the rear with 225/45r18 (370z size is 225/50r18) 18x8. The smaller tire is the oem 18" juke tire spec, the larger 255/40r18 is the same diameter as the smaller one. Going from a 8.5" wide tire to a 10" tire (more sticky tire too ) up front should help with the understeer. It’s a little over kill, but that’s the story of my life.

Wonder if this car ever made money for Nissan - don’t see too many of ‘em. I have no need of a car (yes, I say that a lot) but I’d like to think I’d factor this in if I did need one. Still, the answer is probably Cayman.

The tooling is probably well paid off for 370z.

True enough, but there is a cost for screwing them together. Sat in one maybe 10 years ago - it’s a nice fucking car. I should go to the NY Auto Show this year and report.

Is it a nice car? Sure. Is it competitive? Not at all. It starts at $30k, and you can get a reasonably well equipped EB Mustang for that price. The Nismo is $45k for 350 hp, which is fully loaded Mustang GT territory and within sight of the Bullitt. All for a car that went on sale during the Bush administration.

We’ ve been waiting years at this point for the Z wheels to come to fruition, I remember recommending them some time ago

Yeah, but then you’ll be driving a Mustang.

It’s pretty amazing that you can still buy these new. They’re ancient (in modern car refresh terms).

As opposed to a Nissan?

I am not at all familiar with this segment, and I can see your point. If I were shopping in this segment (and believe me, I’m not) my move would probably be CPO Boxster or Cayman.

The Zs problem is that Nissan let it sit for a decade without doing anything with it. When it came out, it had more power than a Mustang GT and now it’s just a little quicker than a Miata . At least the GT-R, which came out a year before the 370Z , has gotten faster over time . A nd there’s also the fact that the Z gets 19/26 MPG vs a Mustang Ecoboost 21/32. Speed isn’t everything and Nissan comes out with new cars about as often as Dodge does, but D odge knows how to keep the i r dinosaurs fresh.

I note that Infiniti no longer sells a rebadged version of the Z (unless I missed it) and that Nissan doesn’t even come to mind when you think of something sporty with 2 doors. When I was younger, the Z was pretty much in a class by itself, but they just didn’t pay attention to it, you’re right.
